About the Company
Our client is one a highly regarded and awarded grower of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling and is part of one of Australia’s largest and most progressive vertically integrated wine companies.
About the role
A qualified, talented and enthusiastic viticulturist with an ambition to take already great fruit to the next level.
Responsibilities
- Hands on vineyard management of an existing high-quality vineyard area of 350 hectares and management of an on-going planting program of a further 250 hectares
- Fine tuning of vineyard practices for sustainability and quality improvements
- Detailed reporting, costing and analysis of vineyard performance
- Management of contract labour, machinery and operations
- Focus on working with the environment to build soil and plant health
- Training of new/casual staff members
- Organize labor and operational contractors
Education / Experience / Skills
- Tertiary degree in Viticulture or equivalent
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a viticulturist
- Have a good mechanical aptitude
- Excellent communicator
- Be computer literate
