ABOUT THE COMPANY

Family-owned winery in north eastern Victoria, specialising in the production of both red and white wines, along with fortifieds.  Passionate about their business and industry, and committed to using locally sourced products to promote the region. 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

• Plan and manage all the operational requirements of the vineyard.
• Lead a team of people to ensure a high level of motivation, working with the team as and when required.
• Ensure staff are adequately trained and competent to perform their roles.
• Ensure all vineyard equipment is maintained and operational. 
• Ensure safety standards and procedures are adhered to.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be able to reasonably estimate harvest equipment needed; provide accurate harvest estimates; work within assigned budgets.
• Irrigation, monitoring and making recommendations related to vineyard and fruit quality. 
• Cultivation, thinning, pruning, tying, suckering, canopy management, planting and replanting, irrigating and harvesting. 
• Ensure that all necessary equipment is on site and in good operating condition prior to work. 
• Effectively communicate and work cooperatively with support staff. 
• Enforce company policy; supervise to make sure all work is carried out correctly; assist the workers and treat them with respect
