Helen and Joey Estate is a premium, family owned, single vineyard estate winery located in the picturesque Yarra Valley only 50 minutes East of Melbourne. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and passionate FOH Cellar Door Assistant to bring their skills, wine knowledge and exceptional customer service to help us create a unique experience for our customers.
It is the responsibility of all our cellar door staff to embrace our company ethos of engaging with our guests in a professional and personable manner, to ensure all have a memorable and enjoyable time at Helen & Joey Estate.
In this role you will be given the opportunity to advance your current knowledge of wine, wine regions, winemaking techniques and customer service skills.
As the majority of hours on offer will be over the weekend, applicants must be available to work at this time as well as weekdays. Only occasional evening shifts during events required.
Responsibilities
- Welcome all guests to the Cellar Door upon their arrival.
- Assist Cellar Door Manager
- Be able to offer a high standard of customer service while communicating extensive knowledge of Helen and Joey Estate wines and the Yarra Valley.
- Conduct wine tasting for small and medium sized groups.
- Contribute to increasing the overall experience for guests.
- Ensuring that all areas are kept at a high level of cleanliness and all displays are full and presented to high standards.
- Assist with stock control when required.
- Promote responsible service of alcohol.
Skills and Experience
- Previous Cellar Door and customer service experience is preferred.
- Have an understanding and passion for wine.
- Must have a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
- A food Handlers certificate, preferred but not essential
- Weekend work required.
- 1+ years’ experience in a quality venue
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Adaptable, organised and professional with an eye for detail
- Skills to work as part of a small team, in a busy environment
