Domaine Chandon is a leader in the Australian premium sparkling wine market. About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced & passionate Laboratory Manager to join Chandon’s winemaking team. You will be working with a team dedicated to excellence, where you would contribute your expertise by providing analysis into to all aspects of grape, ferment and wine assessment. As Chandon is defined by an uncompromising commitment to quality, an integral aspect of your role will be maintaining & evolving rigorous systems of detection and evaluation.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct highly-accurate juice, ferment, wine and post-production lab analysis and provide clearly presented data to stakeholders
- Take accountability for all quality aspects of winemaking, in addition to filling and packaging
- Conduct trials in consultation with the winemaking team
- Implement Chandon quality systems (existing and innovations) and regularly audit these processes with respect to maintaining traceability and accurate record keeping
- Engage with key departments to meet their evolving needs by developing initiatives to improve practices and quality standards
- Keep abreast of trends and technical changes in winemaking, cellar operations and quality benchmarks
Requirements
In order to be successful in this position, you will have:
- Bachelor of Science/Applied Science, Wine Science/Oenology qualification preferred
- At least 2 years’ experience in winery or food industry
- Enthusiasm and passion for performing scientific analysis & investigating scenarios
- Developed knowledge of issues and threats affecting cellar operations
- Proven methodology in analytical practices and report writing
- Ability to be adaptable and prioritise tasks to meet objectives accurately and on time
- Relocation assistance and work visa sponsorship may be available for a suitably qualified and experienced international candidate
