During the mid-1980s, a team of Chandon’s wine whisperers struck gold at Green Point, an old dairy farm in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. The combination of cool climate and great soil only 50 minutes from Melbourne made for picture-perfect foundations for Domaine Chandon’s new home. Here, Australia’s leading méthode traditionnelle producer has been confidently crafting sparkling and still wines since 1986 – stamped with the distinctly French style that is Chandon.
As part of the global LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton group, we aspire to be future of tradition. We are now crafting a team of diverse Cellar Hands with various levels of experience, to help operate our Cellar during our Vintage season which commences in late-January 2020.
About the Role
Working from our picturesque site, our excellent Vintage Cellar Hands are expected to uphold the quality of standards that identify us as the super-premium sparkling wine leader in Australia. You will use your strong work ethic to safely and precisely follow our operating procedures and perform diverse responsibilities such as:
- Grape receival, processing and pressing
- Fermentation management
- Filtration
- Barrel management, racking and tank transfers
- Cellar hygiene
Requirements
In order for your application to be considered, you must have:
- Experience in 1-3 previous vintage seasons as a Cellar Hand desirable
- Acquired your own right to work in Australia
- Accurate, attentive & efficient work style and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to perform physically demanding work up to 8 to 10 hours per day, up to 6 days per week
- A forklift/HR class license, confined space and health & safety certification is desirable
We hope to make offers for all positions promptly and strive to have all employment & onboarding confirmed by December 2019. A couple of positions are also available to begin in late-2019 to support our Cellar Door, prior to the commencement of the vintage season.
