Elements Bar & Grill, an expanding and innovative steakhouse chain with four current locations and plans for continued growth, is seeking an experienced and passionate Sommelier to join our team. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, mouthwatering cuisine, and an unparalleled dining experience that features the perfect blend of expertly prepared steaks and fine wines.
Location: Elements Bar & Grill (Multiple Locations)
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a well-rounded and diverse wine list tailored to complement our signature steak dishes, including procuring wines from around the world
Collaborate with our Executive Chef to create unique and memorable wine pairings for our seasonal menus
Offer exceptional and personalised service to our guests by guiding them through wine selections and providing detailed descriptions and recommendations
Educate staff on wine offerings, ensuring they are knowledgeable and confident when assisting guests with wine selections
Conduct regular inventory management and maintain appropriate stock levels across all venues
Host and lead wine tastings and other wine-related events at various locations
Build strong relationships with suppliers, staying up-to-date on industry trends and new offerings
Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 years of experience in a similar role within a fine dining steakhouse or upscale restaurant
WSET Level 2 in Wines. Certified Sommelier or higher through the Court of Master Sommeliers or equivalent accreditation
In-depth knowledge of wine production, varietals, regions, and winemaking techniques, particularly those that pair well with steaks
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for providing an exceptional guest experience
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
Familiarity with inventory management systems and procedures
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and travel between locations as needed
