Exciting opportunity to join a small team on a large-scale family owned vineyard on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River between Wagga Wagga and Gundagai.
About Us
Gundagai Vineyards are a family-owned 250 hectare vineyard located 40 minutes east of Wagga Wagga and 20 minutes west of Gundagai on the Murrumbidgee River. We are a small team committed to growing quality fruit for our winemaking customers.
About The Role
Gundagai Vineyards have an opportunity for an experienced vineyard hand to join their team.
Major responsibilities include undertaking a variety of vineyard duties, in accordance with seasonal requirements as directed by the vineyard manager. This role will also require flexibility in work hours when seasonal demand requires and the ability to work shifts during vintage.
On the job training will be provided. However experience, practical knowledge of viticulture and a high level of machinery use experience will be highly regarded. Machinery includes Multi Row Pesticide Units, Multi-Function Grape Harvesters/Machine Pruners and Tractors.
Outdoor component of the role involves the maintenance of trellis, irrigation systems and general areas.
The position requires all plant and machinery to be maintained and operated in accordance with Gundagai Vineyards safe operating procedures and policies.
Local rural residence available.
About You
The following attributes and skills are desired for this position:
- Current C class drivers licence is essential.
- Self-motivated and reliable.
- Enjoy working part of a team and also independently.
- Good level of health and fitness and an enjoyment of outside work.
- A safe work ethic and an understanding of WHS requirements.
- Knowledge of viticulture practices is desirable.
- Chemcert AQF3 is desirable or a willingness to complete.
Remuneration will be negotiated according to experience and qualifications of the candidate.
