Reporting direct to the Chief Winemaker, this position involves a range of activities including: monitoring the maturity of grapes to ensure quality and determine the correct time for harvest; monitor the crushing and pressing of grapes, clarification of juice, fermentation and filtration of wine; liaise with and support cellar staff; testing the quality of wine by tasting; monitoring the storage and maturation of wine; coordinate and control the production of wine to ensure volume and quality are met; making sure quality is maintained when wine is bottled; involved in strategic planning of site winemaking; providing leadership and technical direction to the winemaking team; participate in promotional and public relations functions, tastings and educational sessions.

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external customers. The successful applicant will be required to work as a part of a dynamic team and be prepared to work shifts and overtime, including vintage as required. Completion of tertiary qualifications in Wine Science or equivalent and practical winemaking experience including past vintages is essential.
