Description
Cellar Operator – Join Our Winery Team in the Barossa Valley
Are you passionate about wine, eager to learn, or ready to take the next step in your winemaking career? We’re looking for enthusiastic and dependable Cellar Operators to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis in the Barossa Valley.
Working closely with our Chief Winemaker, this hands-on role plays a key part in keeping our winery running smoothly throughout the entire production process.
Whether you’ve got years of cellar experience or are just starting out in the wine industry, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome candidates of all backgrounds—experienced or not—and wages are negotiable depending on what you bring to the table.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Cellar Operator, you’ll be right at the heart of our winemaking process. You’ll help prepare and process our wines to meet our high standards and those our clients expect. From wine transfers to filtration and all other general cellar tasks, you’ll be involved in just about every step of the winemaking process.
During vintage we’ll need your flexibility and team spirit as we work variable hours to meet production needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support wine preparation tasks like transfers and additions
- Operate and monitor filtration equipment and cellar machinery
- Clean, sterilise, and set up tanks, lines, and pumps
- Handle winemaking and cleaning chemicals with care
- Keep accurate records of all cellar activities
- Help complete work orders efficiently and correctly
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace
- Communicate clearly with winemakers and fellow cellar hands
What We’re Looking For
- A strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on, manual tasks
- A positive team player who gets along well with others
- Open to learning and following clear processes
- Prior experience in a winery or production setting is great—but not essential
- Willing to work flexible hours during peak times, especially vintage
