The Krondorf wine story is rich, colourful and steeped in Barossa Valley history. The Krondorf brand was launched by the legendary winemakers Grant Burge and Ian Wilson in 1978. Just two years later in 1980 Krondorf achieved Australia’s most acclaimed wine award, winning the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy with a red 'Burgundy'
 
About the Role 
 

We have a newly created opportunity to support the set up,  opening & to manage day-to-day operations of the Krondorf Cellar Door. 

 

You will develop and nurture a friendly, informed and focussed sales culture and provide support where needed in wine knowledge. As well as develop sales opportunities in addition to cellar door trade and help to build relationships externally to help build cellar door awareness and promote the venue; through passionately sharing the Krondorf story, showcasing award winning portfolio and building a memorable customer experience
 
Our ambition to build a strong reputation in the Barossa & become a 'must visit' venue & a community player.
 
Key Responsibilities will include: 

  • Implement solid, strategic structures throughout the Cellar Door and build a team of enthusiastic and passionate individuals
  • Work closely with the other cellar door managers, across our other venues nationally, to align processes and procedure
  • People management: Foster a strong team of team players, who can represent the Krondorf brand with a positive outlook
  • Build a wine club with the intention of selling pre-release offers, promotion of the brand, general advocacy and anticipation of new vintages
  • Be able to clearly communicate the Krondorf story and brand values
  • Contribute to cellar door marketing and promotion

About You

You will have a strong understanding of the wine industry with at least 2 years’ sales, retail or hospitality supervisor experience. You are highly organised, a great planner and you exert passion for wine, customers & community. We would love it if you were active in developing/maintaining business & personal networks.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management & negotiation skills – ability to influence at all levels.
  • People management skills
  • RSA Certificate
  • Formal wine education WSET or similar
  • Ability to edit and update tasting sheets and collateral
  • Sales monitoring, reporting, budget management, cost management experience
  • Proven ability to show initiative and complete tasks to a reasonable timeframe. 
  • Strategically minded with the ability to see market opportunities and trends
