Armorica is a French Brasserie in Surry Hills which has recently received 1 Hat in the SMH Good Food Guide. The venue is open and light filled with seating for 140 guests, and is very focussed on personalised service and an exceptional dining experience. 

Reporting to the Head Sommelier the right candidate will have a strong knowledge of wine makers, regions and styles, a background in wine service and fine dining and a willingness to learn. You will also have a passion for all things wine.

Requirements:

  • An understanding of wine and wine making (including regions, producers and wine making techniques)
  • Confidence
  • A can-do attitude and a willingness to help out where needed
  • The ability to work under pressure 
  • The ability to work in a team
  • Customer service skills
  • RSA

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Creating and updating the wine list in coordination with Head Sommelier and Director of Beverages.
  • Supervising wine service and collaborating with winemakers / suppliers to renew our selections and achieve better prices
  • Facilitating training Sommeliers and Wine Waiters to ensure knowledge is current
  • Advising customers on wine pairing with food, occasion and budget
  • Assisting with guest orders and service
