About the role:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Key Account Manager to join our sales team. Based in Sydney this role will be focused on managing our Key Independent Retail Banner Groups in NSW and actively pursuing On Premise new business leads with the objective to deliver sustainable sales growth and delivery to budgets. 

We are looking for a hunter with great financial acumen who can manage existing relationships and chase down new leads.

Duties will include:                                                     

  • Develop and manage positive and profitable relationships with key NSW national accounts, banner groups and independent retailers.
  • Work closely with the broader VHWS team to develop, implement, review and monitor a cohesive customer brand plan including promotional activities and sales strategies.
  • Undertake market analysis, customer reviews and strategic business planning; implement sales strategies and plans, and deliver on key financials.
  • Manage the supply chain through the wholesaler partners with new line forms, pack changes, price enquires.
  • Ensure accurate product forecasting and stock requirements critical to channel.
  • Actively seek new business opportunities in line with the national on premise channel and brand strategies.
  • Achieve growth in revenue, profit and sales volume.
  • Manage trading terms, compliances and expenses.
  • Prepare and present sales updates, call objectives and promotional effectiveness and opportunities to the State Sales Manager and NSW sales team members monthly.

About you:

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic person, with excellent communication and customer service skills. Previous experience in a similar role in FMCG, product/market knowledge within the wine industry as well as an understanding of key account management would be highly considered. This role requires a highly motivated individual to work independently and in a team environment, have the ability to take ownership of allocated work tasks, meet deadlines and have sound attention to detail.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Minimum 3 years FMCG or Liquor experience in an account management role
  • Experience in On-Premise Sales
  • Numerate with good financial awareness and capability (P&L accountability)
  • Experience activating trade marketing (tastings, festivals etc)
  • A strong ability to turn data into commercial insights
  • Full driver’s license
  • RSA Qualification
  • Appropriate IT skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
  • Wine knowledge would be ideal however not essential
