Bottleshop Manager (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

The Oaks is undertaking some major renovations and is seeking an experienced fulltime Craft beer and wine curator / Bottleshop manager to join our team.

The Oaks is one of Sydney's most iconic hotels - a local institution that's been around since 1885.

 

Part of the massive makeover, the new The Oaks Bottle Shop and Takeaway is headed by a craft beer curator and features the best craft beer selection in Sydney, a communal tasting table that invites guests to ‘try before you buy’ fresh from the tap, and a great selection of wines and local spirits.

Inspired by a 1940’s milk bar, a rotisserie run by the chef of the neighbour venue Alala’s will serve up hot roast rolls such as ‘pork belly porchetta with salsa verde’ and ‘spiced cauliflower with pumpkin hummus, harissa and rocket.

 

The Oaks Bottle Shop and Takeaway manager will source the best available beverage products, drive agenda, drive concept, trains staff. He / Her will work closely with the managers of The Oaks’ disruptive Taffy’s Sports Bar and brand new Alala’s garden bar and eatery.

 

Ideal background: passionate about craft beverage, experience in a craft brewery and/or winery, experience in bottleshop management.

 

Daily Duties will include:

• Stock requisitions  which include working  with XL spread sheets

• Ordering stock

• Dealing directly with wholesalers

• Receiving stock deliveries

• Overseeing floor operations of the Bottleshop

 

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• availability to participate in a 7 day working roster of days, weekends and public holidays

• Potentially Late night finish on at least 2 shifts of the working week

• Strong craft beer + Wine Knowledge

• RSA certificate required

• must hold a current Australian Working Visa
