The Place:
Osteria di Russo & Russo is an intimate, modern Italian restaurant on Enmore Rd, in the heart of Newtown's nightlife. We've won load of awards (from a SMH Good Food Guide “Chef's Hat” to “Hottest Dish” in the Australian) and become an Institution in the Inner west - combining a modern take of Italian flavours using native ingredients with old fashioned service and dark, candle lit ambiance.
We have a small wine list of mostly Italian wines (or Italian Varieties grown locally) with a big focus on small independent producers, minimal intervention and minimising ecological footprint. Our drinks list has seasonal cocktails with a strong Italian focus, Italian craft beers and house made sodas.
The Role:
We're looking for a full time Bar Manager/Sommelier to join our team, you would be responsible for:
- Creating and maintaining our Cocktail list & regular specials
- Creating and maintaining our Wine list
- Selling wine to customers, training staff on wine/drinks and making wine matches for our degustation menu
- Dispensing Drinks/Coffee and Wine
- Providing Table Service, Taking Reservations, etc
- Conducting stock control and general cleaning
The Requirements:
- Available nights and weekends
- Previous experience as a Sommelier & Bartender
- In depth knowledge and love of Italian food & wine
- Desire to learn, progress, improve
