St Maur Estate is one of the Southern Highlands most unique vineyards. With a focus on quality and delivering a premium brand experience, we are seeking a Cellar Door Host to join us at our winery located at Exeter, on the site of a rustic dairy farm.
Working as part of a fun and dynamic team, this role offers the opportunity to receive wine and sales training, and deliver a world class wine experience to our customers. This is an extremely versatile role for somebody who does not shy away to get hands-on.
St Maur is a family business and like all families we sometimes have to roll up our sleeves to ensure that everything runs smoothly – from putting out the open sign to one on one sales interactions with our loyal customers.
We are busy on weekends with locals and visitors from Sydney, Canberra and other towns in NSW, all eager to taste our premium cool climate wines. We think it’s great to meet different people and share a premium tasting experience with them. This is the business we are in and like us you do your best work on weekends and public holidays.
What does the role look like?
- Each day your eye for detail will make sure the cellar door and the surrounds are immaculately presented.
- You’ll also meet well educated and interesting people and showcase our wines to them – you’ll get a bonus if you sign them up to our wine club.
- You’ll manage the POS system, EFT and receipts for the business and manage our stock of wines and track sales.
- You’ll flex your creative skills and learn by working with our print and marketing suppliers.
- We’ll teach you about our wines, the vineyard, wine making and our Wine Club.
- Each week, your creativity will help capture interesting images around the vineyard and create posts for our social media accounts.
- Most fortnights you will help field enquiries for, organise and host exclusive events and engage with our influential wine club members in the private dining room.
- Every month you will create emails and send them to our Wine Club and newsletter base.
- After learning about our business, when you demonstrate initiative and prove your value, the right person can progress to manage the cellar door, events or wine club.
You are working in the hospitality or service industries and great at dealing with people. You enjoy engaging with customers and providing best in class service. You like to keep things in order and seeing things out of place makes you want to straighten them immediately. Offering customers a unique and premium experience comes naturally.
You’ll need to show us:
- Experience in hospitality, service, events or sales.
- How you can provide premium and best in class service.
- Your current NSW drivers licence and own transport.
- Your current R.S.A. or willing to get one ASAP.
- Ability to work weekends and public holidays.
- Organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Your right to work in Australia or hold a valid Australian work permit.
