Our related winery business in the South West of Western Australia seeks to appoint an onsite winemaker to join our small team.
That person will:
- Be responsible for all aspects of winemaking and production at the site in a full time hands on role
- Effectively manage the small winemaking team and report to the General Manager
- Develop and articulate the wine styles and formulate a winemaking strategy appropriate to these
- Be able to back strategy and operational practice with sound technical argument
- Develop a culture of best practice amongst staff
- Be motivated in planning and managing the future development of the winery site and winery equipment
- Prepare of the vintage winemaking plan using techniques to maximise wine quality and winery efficiencies
We expect that the candidate will:
- Have a tertiary qualification in Oenology
- Have a background in the production of distinctive regional wine styles
- Have experience in a winery management role
- Be willing to display a commitment to excellence within the winemaking team
