Clyde Park was established in 1979, and has established itself as a leading Geelong vineyard in both wine, events and dining.
Clyde Park has a cellar door and bistro set on the beautiful Moorabool Valley just off the Midland Highway half an hour north of Geelong, 35 minutes from Ballarat. Our speciality wines include Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. A James Halliday five star red winery.
About the role
We are looking for a highly driven wine professional with unparalleled knowledge of wine and beverage, with a passion for sharing their experience and growing our business.
You'll work with some excellent people, both on site at Clyde Park and off site when delivering exceptional customer service to our local customers.
This position is a key role within our company that will be directly responsible in managing our Cellar Door and maintaining strong relationships with our wholesale customer base.
This position is wine first, then hospitality and sales. It would ideally suit a sommelier or proven hospitality manager looking to take on a more wine-focused role. Good communication skills critical. Also great location to work at, and would suit those looking for a tree-change.
Primary responsibilities:
- Managing our Cellar Door at Clyde Park, ensuring it's smooth operation and leading the way in tastings and wine education.
- The Face of Clyde Park for local sales in Ballarat, Geelong and the Great Ocean Road
- Creating and maintaining strong customer relationships with local restaurants, bars, bistros and beverage distributors.
- New business growth in Cellar Door sales
- Arranging in conjunction with chefs and owners, Cellar Door, events and special releases etc.
- Wine Club retention and new members creation
- On/Off premise sales to budget growth
- These targets to reviewed quarterly/half yearly.
- Answering internal and external customers' queries
- Ensure our customer service meets the highest expectations
The Candidates
Candidates must be able to demonstrate
- Strong wine and food skills
- A good understanding of the wine wholesale business
- A good understanding of Cellar Door best standards
- A track record of success in both of the above
- A team player, with high standards and self motivated
- Strong verbal communication skills and be able to deal with clients and staff at all levels
Essential Criteria
- 4+ years' experience working with cellar door and sales, both retail and wholesale
- Understanding of building bespoke wine and food business
- Proven ability to build strong client relationships and increase repeat visitation
- Proven ability to work across multiple tasks at the same time
- Flexibility to hours worked, including weekends and nights
- RSA
- Drivers License - candidate must have a valid drivers license and be willing to drive our vehicles
- WSET Level 3 qualifications
- Excellent wine and hospitality skills
- Experience in family business in wine and hospitality is a distinct advantage
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Strong leadership skills

- Strong English language skills
