Restaurant Manager | F&B Team Leader
Bedarra is a multi-award winning boutique island resort that provides the ultimate barefoot luxury experience to our guests.
Located in Tropical North Queensland approximately 2 hours drive south of Cairns, Bedarra Island Resort is situated just off the coast from Mission Beach, on the Great Barrier Reef.
With only twelve guest villas, we cater to a maximum of 24 guests on the island at any time and offer a private and personalised island experience like no other.
We are seeking an experienced, mature and professional Restaurant Manager to join our small and friendly F&B team and manage operations of our unique resort restaurant.
This is an amazing opportunity to work and live at a world-class island resort and showcase your personality and natural flair for interacting with guests, in conjunction with leading and inspiring a small team of colleagues.
The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in fine dining and/or high-end resorts and a strong knowledge of local and imported wines and cuisine.
You will be leading a small team of front of house professionals and the following attributes, skills or experience would be required:
- A genuine passion for food and wine.
- Strong wine, cocktail and beverage knowledge.
- Managing, training, and motivating a team.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Budgeting and cost controlling.
- Rostering.
- Developing relationships with key suppliers, stock control and ordering.
- Professional manner and presentation.
We offer a supportive workplace culture, a professional team of colleagues and a salary package inclusive of accommodation in a single-share self-contained villa on the island.
The role is a full-time position, with a five-day-on, two-day-off roster.
The island offers swimming, snorkelling, fishing, walking, sea kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and boating for you to enjoy on your rostered days off, however being an island location, we are also seeking candidates who understand the characteristics of living and working in a remote and isolated environment.
Boat transfers between the island and nearby Mission Beach (20 minute trip) are also available on your rostered days off and are included as part of your package.
This position is available for a mid-March 2023 commencement in line with our season re-opening. We are also seeking candidates in our Kitchen, Housekeeping and Maintenance departments for our upcoming season and encourage applications from suitable couples.
To be eligible for this position you must be an Australian citizen or have an appropriate visa to work in Australia.
