Established in 1860, Tahbilk is one of Australia’s most beautiful and historic family owned wineries. Located in the Nagambie Lakes region of Central
Victoria (120kms north of Melbourne), one of the nation’s premium viticultural areas.
Classified by the National Trust, the original winery houses the Cellar Door tasting facility. Beneath, and accessible from Cellar Door are the maturation
cellars built in 1860 and 1875 and still in use today.
We are seeking a full time Cellar Door Manager to deliver outstanding customer service and lead our Cellar Door team.
The key responsibilities of this hands-on role include:
• Host customer visits for groups, tours and other educational experiences
• Actively market and promote the Company’s product and services to increase customer spend per head
• Overseeing the daily operations and administrative tasks
• Provide staff supervision and training as well as mentoring to foster the development of wine knowledge within the team function
• Work in conjunction with our Restaurant Manager to develop unique experiences for our customers
The preferred applicant will have an extensive knowledge and awareness of wine styles and trends and be able to effectively share this knowledge with visitors and fellow team members. Weekend and weekday public holiday work is required.
Other key qualities include strong administration skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, high attention to detail, an outgoing personality and hands-on attitude, as well as a passion for the product, people and the wine industry.
A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate is essential whilst relevant studies and formal qualifications in hospitality/wine as well as WSET
Level 2 and experience within a Cellar Door environment would be highly advantageous for the preferred applicant. Drivers licence and reliable transport is essential.
Prospective employees are required to undergo Psychometric testing.
