Job Description

Nashdale Lane Wines is a quality focused vineyard and winery in the heart of the Orange, NSW and we are currently seeking a passionate Viticulture & Property Manager to join our team and manage our 15-hectare mature vineyard as well as the additional 8-hectares of property. 

The successful candidate will work to continually improve the health of the vineyard, the soils and the ecosystem. The role will encompass day to day management, working with the owners and wine making team on the development of new plantings as well as overall property management. 

This is a hands-on, all-encompassing vineyard role.

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in sustainable viticulture, with great communication skills, a mechanical aptitude, and strong organisational & communication skills.

Applicants must have Australian citizenship/residency or a valid existing Australian work visa.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the day-to-day running of the vineyard to ensure high quality fruit.

• Be responsible for vineyard monitoring, pest and disease management and canopy management and overall vineyard health.

• Ensure timely application of appropriate sprays and floor management.

• Plan & implement vineyard redevelopment / expansion.

• Maintenance of mechanical equipment, trellis and irrigation systems.

• Work towards continual improvement of vine health and fruit quality.

• Assist in the development of sustainable growing practices across the vineyard & property. 

• Oversee the ongoing development of the property to improve biodiversity as well as overall property presentation for cellar door guests.

• Be diligent in record-keeping and ensuring a safe work place

Qualifications

• Formal viticultural qualifications are desired.

• A minimum of 3 years practical vineyard experience.

• A keen interest in the vine to wine growing and making.

• NSW driving licence, vineyard equipment competency, Chemical Handling accreditation.
