In this role
- Lead, develop, direct and manage the team to deliver to achieve revenue, sales, brand and profit targets in accordance with agreed customer business plan within budgets.
- Deliver a step change in performance through category led initiatives across the designated customer.
- As a key member of the Sales Leadership Team, collaborate with peers to contribute to the overall development of sales strategy and total business performance success.
Key accountabilities include
- Achieve the planned sales targets for the customer/account within trade spend budgets, as agreed in the customer business plan.
- Establish joint customer plans to achieve mutually agreed growth objectives within the category.
- Product Availability (Distribution and Presence) - develop ranging, shelf presence objectives, promotional programs and pricing strategies in line with category plans to optimise business profitability and category growth/value
- Drive Range Review planning and delivery within Accolade Wines and Customer
- Active management of the true cost of servicing the customer and how business decisions impact on these costs (ie effective customer contribution)
- Deliver forecasting/demand plans to agreed targets
- Management of promotional budget, S&OP process and management of trade spend including responsibility for debtor control
- Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with key executives in customer account including regular senior management review facilitation with customer management team
- Lead the establishment and development of business relationships between the customer organisational structure and relevant departments within Accolade Wines.
- Manage National Account team to achieve business and personal objectives
- Work with the marketing teams to ensure strategy development represents customer/consumer requirements for the businesses
- Participate in the sales leadership team; contributing to strategic and technical direction and ensuring the Company remains at the forefront of customer developments and the trade in general.
- Remain up to date on all industry initiatives and competitor actions and develop plans to exploit/mitigate)
Other accountabilities include
- Achievement of agreed sales and profit targets for relevant channels with agreed parameters
- Deliver market share targets by segment
- Deliver Sales forecast accuracy of 70%
- Development of strategies and tools to optimise domestic sales mix
- Continuously improve of account capability and sales performance.
- Contribute to positive brand outcomes across all sales channels by closely working with Brand and Customer Marketing teams
- Contribution as part of the National Sales Leadership team

Essential experience is
- University degree in business, marketing or related discipline strongly regarded
- Minimum 5 years experience in liquor (wine industry very highly regarded) or FMCG at national account leadership level
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
- Proven ability to develop sound commercial relationships across all channels and levels
- Demonstrated advanced customer management and SOP process engagement
- Ability to manage/develop Trading Terms within defined parameters
- Full understanding of AC Nielsen - ability to develop win category ‘sell’ stories and plan range reviews
- Field management skills an advantage
