Pepper Tree Wines are searching for a dynamic candidate to help run our Cellar Door in a permanent part time role. Based in Pokolbin in the heart of the Hunter Valley – we are seeking a self-starter who can take our offering to the next level.

Pepper Tree is a successful and prestigious Hunter Valley Winery. We offer our Cellar Door guests a world class experience and a fantastic range of trophy winning wines. We aim to grow our Wine Clubs and maximise daily sales through building long term relationships with clients.

Increasing sales will be fun and a satisfying challenge with high potential rewards.  You will have a great product to sell and a team that is enthusiastic and ready to improve.

The successful candidate should offer exceptional customer service and demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills. Applicants must thrive on interactions and enjoy contact with customers, have a love for wine and food, have a collaborative approach and excellent leadership capacity.

Weekend/public holiday work will be necessary for this job; with the cellar door open Monday-Sunday, 9am-5pm.

A significant part of this role will require the successful applicant to work in our Cellar Door, communicating and tasting with our Cellar Door visitors.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Great sales and customer service skills
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Wine knowledge desirable but not essential
  • Strong interest in wine, previous experience and working knowledge of the wine industry would be advantageous.
  • Manage and achieve sales targets, profit and expense budgets
  • Manage opening and closing procedures including cash and daily reporting. 
  • Work closely with our Business Development Manager and Wine Club Manager
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Manage booking systems

Qualifications/Licences

  • Possession of Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
  • Current Driver’s license

Renumeration based on experience but a chance to increase earnings based on incentivised sales at Cellar Door.
