Castelli Wines is nestled “amongst the magnificent Karri Trees” in the southern coastal community of Denmark, Western Australia - a picturesque Tudor styled winery with nearly 20 years of history and reputation for producing world class wines owned by the Castelli family.

InCantina is the West Australian focussed distribution business that represents Castelli and other family-owned artisan wine and spirit producers from Australia, Italy, Germany and Spain.   Castelli are looking for a dynamic Distribution & Brand Manager to be responsible for the management of the sales function for the InCantina and Castelli Group of brands with distributors in the international and domestic markets. Based at the Perth office, and reporting to the Managing Director, this position is part of the executive group that sets the business strategy and a leader within the Castelli team.


Key Requirements

The Distribution & Brand Manager is responsible for setting and meeting sales targets for Castelli Wines and growing distribution in domestic and international markets.

Commercial acumen that delivers results in line with budgeted margin and product mix expectations within the channel.

Achieve sales volume, revenue, discounts, margin and sales mix according to financial budgets.

Demonstrate awareness and support for national brand and customer marketing strategies and lead the execution of these strategies within the channel in WA.

Act as a key contact point for our InCantina brand partners and drive the execution of WA brands in the WA market place.

The role is hands-on, as the Distribution Manager works closely with our distribution partners to drive sales and creates networks with key trade, direct customers, and wine influencers ensuring our offer is relevant and well activated.

As an ambassador for Castelli Wines, this role represents the brands both domestically and in international markets at trade and consumer events.

The Distribution-Brand Manager collaborates with the executive team to develop sales tools, trade marketing initiatives and new products and ensures the successful execution of sales and trade marketing plans by distributors and customers. They prepare annual sales budgets and forecasts and set levels of A&P to support distributors while assisting with managing stock control and order procedures.

This key position develops ‘end to end’ commercial understanding of the Brand portfolio and contributes to marketing expense budget to deliver brand goals.   The position maintains and develops a close working relationship with the Winemakers to improve wine product knowledge for our consumers & improve customer experience.

About You

The successful candidate for this opportunity will have strong interpersonal skills, excellent wine knowledge and be a committed team player in a business built around a strong culture and set of values.

They will work out of hours when needed and be able to travel interstate. Proficiency in Microsoft office, strong literacy & numeracy skills are essential and must hold a current RSA and driver’s licence.   Experience in a senior wine sales role as a principal dealing with key accounts, solid trade connections and experience working with agents in international markets is preferred.

This role will suit a self-motivated sales leader who can lead by example and has the experience to prove it.  We are looking for an effective problem solver, someone with demonstrated relationship building and influencing skills who can work across a diverse stakeholder group.

The ability to work autonomously and being someone who is well planned, organised and works within a defined structure.

Tertiary qualifications in Business or Commerce would be a great addition, of course, wine knowledge with WSET qualifications would be highly regarded.

Proven people leadership capabilities in managing an experienced Sales/Marketing team within the Wine or FMCG sector are highly valued.

Candidates with current working knowledge of and strong networks in the WA Liquor industry will be highly regarded.
