Duxton Vineyards are a privately-owned company, which owns a portfolio of vineyards, including two of the largest vineyards in Australia. The vineyard portfolio totals approximately 2400 hectares of vines. Not only does this company supply fruit to most of the large wine companies it also produces wine to be sold locally and to international markets.
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an experience Purchasing & Planning Officer across the vineyards.
About the role:
Reporting to the General Manager this role is responsible for developing a strong rapport with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the availability of products to all department across the vineyards.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Manage, compile and raise purchase orders for all products needed for various departments
- Review and monitor inbound deliveries and provide advice to production stakeholders on current status
- Manage inventory levels and status to budget requirements Assist in stock count and cycle counts procedures for Bulk, raw materials
- Communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with all other departments
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and expedite authorised purchases in accordance with lead time requirements
- Expedite and re-schedule deliveries to meet department requirements.
- Stay informed on technical details, price and availability
- Sourcing products and pricing to assist with project quoting
- Review and report purchase price variance monthly
- Involvement with vendor assurance audits and vendor qualification processes
- Liaise with logistics suppliers, to organise import and export movements while managing costs and delivery expectations
- Prepare and create various inventory reports and maintain inventory
- Organise Purchasing Orders and Receipts on our customized software
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a purchasing, planning or procurement role
- Advanced level of experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word
- The ability to be able to effectively communicate and negotiate positive business outcomes with a range of suppliers and internal stakeholders
- The ability to understand and interpret deadlines and plans
- A thorough approach to your work that ensures details are not missed and correct quantities are entered and ordered
- Excellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
