Role description:
We are looking for a dynamic, wine-focused retail person who will be responsible for many aspects of the business with a particular emphasis on retail “point of sale “ as well as assisting in the execution of in-store and offsite events, tastings and courses.
Responsibilities:
1. Retail shop-floor sales and point of sale, as well as dealing with customers via phone, email and other electronic means.
2. Event support and service to our many courses, events and tastings that are a constant theme of the business
3. Logistics of stock and receiving orders from suppliers, packing of customer orders and consignment and dispatch of orders.
4. Customer service. Be a key in-store contact for developing customer relationships which includes responsibility for customer tastings and growing our key products (own brands, imports and key producers) as well as taking and fulfilling customer orders face-to-face as well as electronically.
5. Procurement of wine, beer and spirits, as required , as well as management of consumables. This will also require tasting wine samples to develop your palate and assist in the selection of store products.
Requirements:
- Physically fit as some heavy lifting is involved.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- A revolving 38-hour roster that will incorporate some weekend and evening work.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Current scooter license preferred but not essential.
- Front of house service experience desirable but not essential.
- WEST Level 2 or 3 , or applicable wine qualification desirable but not essential.

- Wine purchases at special staff rates to assist with growing wine knowledge.

This role ( due to late starts) may suit a dedicated “hospo“ that has worked previously in retail, on-premise / restaurant or distribution and would like more family-friendly or study friendly hours to solidify their wine status and knowledge in an elevated, but friendly, family owned business.
