POSITION OVERVIEW //

An exciting opportunity has since been created for a passionate and knowledgeable Wine Curator. The successful candidate will take full accountability and responsibility for wine sales at QT Melbourne.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES //

  • A complete working knowledge, and level of understanding with local, Australian, and imported wines.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Planning and executing comprehensive trainings accompanied with tasting notes.
  • Ability to determine and analyse results, focusing on driving great COGS results.
  • You are presented impeccably and looking your best, spruced up self at all times.
  • Be physically fit and motivated, to be proactive in order to achieve success.
  • To communicate effectively and professionally with all staff & management.
  • Have full knowledge of & practice work health & safety practices and participate in training provided.
  • To be responsible for maintaining and preserving quality products.
  • To anticipate and exceed our guest's desires at all times, igniting a sense of surprise and delight combined with inquisitive theatrical customer interaction.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS //

  • Proven experience for a minimum 4 years as a sommelier and experience in a similar luxury hotel or restaurant
  • Strong knowledge around the financial aspects of the business - Ability to dissect information and move forward with a calculated approach
  • Total guest service orientation and drive for a developing career 
  • Physically fit and capable 
  • Great attention to detail and efficient working style
  • Strong work ethic and positive culture
  • Flexible with working hours
  • Valid RSA for Victoria
