We are looking for someone to take on a wine focussed role on the floor at Longsong, Melbourne's newest bar with excellent food, by David Moyle, and a list to match, by Mike Bennie. This role entails assisting in managing our wine program, wine ordering and stock control. You will work closely with the venue manager and the bar manager, as well as liaise comfortably with producers and reps.
You will assist with staff wine training and knowledge building. We wouldn't want you to be the only person talking wine, we want all our staff to be able to talk our list comfortably, under the experienced guidance of you.
You will have a big focus on selling lots of booze during service and being fabulous whilst doing that! During service you will be on the floor, wine and booze slinging across the venue. You will at times need to run your own section and on busy nights you will float, picking tables that look like they need a hand, like they need more drinks and especially tables that are here to have a great time with us!
Our wine list isn't huge, but like it's collaborators Mike Bennie and David Moyle, it's unique and complex, with plenty of room for growth and a whole lot of fun! A strong interest in low intervention wines is necessary and a penchant for getting people a little tipsy a must!
