Heathcote Winery, established in 1978, was one of the first commercial wineries in Heathcote. The building dates back to 1854 when Thomas Craven established ‘Craven’s Stores’ to cater for the the huge influx of gold miners seeking their fortune in the heady gold rush days.
Heathcote Winery has a passionate commitment to produce wines truly reflective of the Heathcote Region with an individual stamp of innovation and excellence.
We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working and passionate operations winemaker with the drive to meet the business objectives of the company through active participation and cooperation in a team environment. The role will provide the opportunity to create award winning wines of superior quality and individuality.
The successful candidate will need to have the following attributes/skills:
- A practical, hands on experience base and philosophy which aligns with the current team;
- The ability to work autonomously when Winemaker not on site
- High level of attention to detail in all areas;
- Ability to prioritise and make well informed decisions when under pressure;
- Manage and coordinate winemaking processes with vineyard team and winery contacts to improve production, cost and quality
- Work alongside Winemaker during evaluation and tasting stages, making appropriate recommendations on treatments and analysis
- The knowledge and desire to participate in the general operation of the vineyard as required throughout the annual season.
- Eligibility to work in Australia – you must be a citizen or permanent resident;
- A degree in or working towards the successful completion of Oenology or similar;
- Current drivers and forklift license;
