The Jackson Family operates over 200 hectares of vineyards across both South Australia and Victoria. We currently have a vacancy for an experienced vineyard operator in McLaren Vale working at Yangarra Estate Vineyard and Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard. Our Yangarra Estate Vineyard has been certified Organic since 2012.
Reporting to the Vineyard Manager, this position involves working in all aspects of daily vineyard operations. Ideally this role requires extensive previous experience in viticulture, horitculture or agriculture machinery operations. We are looking for a long term employee to join our team.
Key responsibilites and duties include;
- Mechanical canopy management, weed control and pre-pruning
- Harvest operations - mechanical
- Tractor operations
- Organic chemical application and recording - multirow spray unit
- Daily maintenance and upkeep of vineyard equipment
- WH&S compliance and ensuring that all work activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and policies
It is highly favourable you have the following:
- Medium ridged and forklift license desirable but not essential
- Ability to work flexible hours when required (especially Harvest)
- Maintenance and/or mechanical aptitude or experience
