The highly awarded Shingleback Wines and its cellar door is located 40mins south of Adelaide city at the entrance to McLaren Vale wine region. Since 1999, Shingleback have been crafting award winning single vineyard and regional wines that capture the essence of McLaren Vale.
Our cellar door is located in a restored 1840’s barn, which offers a warm rustic feel for our customers and a beautiful work place for our small, yet fun and engaging team.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic person to bring their wine knowledge and exceptional customer service ability to create memorable experiences for our guests. In this role you will have the opportunity to build an intimate knowledge of our wines and use this knowledge to lead our guests on engaging wine flight tastings, assist in sales and ensure positive customer experiences.
In this role, you will be responsible to:
- Welcome all guests to the Cellar Door, offering an exceptional service at all times whilst demonstrating intimate knowledge of Shingleback's award winning wines.
- Assume responsibility for the delivery of exceptional customer service to all visitors at all times.
- Consistently seek opportunities to increase the overall experience for visitors.
- Process sales of wine and wine products with the ability to upsell where appropriate.
- Assist in wine club membership sign ups.
- Food preparation and service including platters and regional produce.
- Assist the cellar door manager in the support of tours including administrative requirements and any ongoing improvements to the customer’s tour experience.
- Ensure the tasting room and back office is clean and presentable at all times, including actions on the weekly cleaning roster.
This is a casual position with potential for permanent position in the future. This position is suitable for someone looking for 3-4 days/week including both weekend days.
In order to succeed in this position, you will have:
- A current RSA certificate & preferably experience working in cellar doors or at least hospitality
- A passion for creating engaging experiences with customers
- Exceptional ability to provide memorable service
- A high standard of personal presentation
- High energy, a positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
- The ability to multi-task and work efficiently when busy
- The legal right to work in Australia
