An opportunity exists for a motivated Vineyard Supervisor to join the award-winning Tate Wine team, and work with some of WA’s premier vineyards and wineries. This is a full-time permanent position, reporting to the Group Viticulturist. The successful applicant will be an experienced Vineyard Supervisor, with the commitment to growing grapes wines of the highest quality, and the drive to work in autonomy and in a dynamic team.
Main Job Responsibilities:
• Integral part of the viticulture team, with involvement on all our vineyard sites, located in the Margaret River G.I. (currently 1 in Jindong, 2 in Wilyabrup, 2 in Wallcliffe).
• Opportunity to participate in seasonal decision making.
• Supervision of contract work, including teams and machinery.
• All machinery operations
• Hands-on vineyard operations
• Trellis maintenance
• Irrigation maintenance and programming
• Machinery and grounds daily routine maintenance
• Opportunity to interact with our Winemakers and participate in winemaking tasting and allocations.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
• Good understanding and hands-on approach to vineyard equipment and techniques, with a focus on tractor operations, fungicides and herbicides applications.
• Sound understanding of canopy management
• Pruning experience and understanding
• Understanding of pests and diseases of grapevines in MR
• Valid driver’s license
• Chemical handling, forklift license, first aid qualifications are all a plus.
• Organised, team player able to also work in autonomy.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Office location at our central Wilyabrup site.
An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant, commensurate with experience and commitment.
