1837 Barossa is an iconic Australian wine producer that commemorates the date on which Colonel William Light, founder of Adelaide and first Surveyor-General of South Australia named the Barossa in December 1837. The spectacular estate in the Southern Barossa town of Lyndoch has breathtaking views over a landscape of rolling hills blanketed in rows of vines, punctuated with modern art sculptures

About the role
Reporting to the management, the successful applicant will be able to host our exclusive 2 hours wine experiences. The experiences take place on Friday to Sunday at 11am and 2pm.
We have a vacancy as Experience Guide and Sales
This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience when joining our wine experiences. Our wine experience include vineyard & history walks, explaining the terroir, wine appreciation training, wine tasting across all 1837 Barossa wine offerings and selling our wine club member benefits, along with championing and encouraging social media engagement and online reviews. Between the pre-booked tours you provide tastings in the cellar door.
During the week you will be offered the possibility to sell our iconic wines to Restaurants in Adelaide with an attractive commissions plan.
The ideal candidate has strong background or education in grape growing, wine making or as a sommelier. Reliable senior wine students with enthusiasm and excellent communication skills are invited to apply. The position requires regular weekend work. Full drivers license and reliable transport is essential along with a current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate. This position is initially 3 days (Friday -Sunday) per week, always including weekends.
For the right applicant this role has the potential to develop into a full time role with added responsibilities. To be considered for this role you will have:
- In depth knowledge of grape growing, wine making and wine appreciation.
- Experience of at least 3 year with an understanding for the Wine Industry direct to consumer sales processes and environment.
- Experience with using a cloud based point of sales and customer relationship system.
- Knowledge of the Barossa Valley Region.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within multi-functional team.
- Ability to communicate effectively via spoken, written and visual platforms.
- An understanding and proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to multi task along with highly developed computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to record frontline data and stock movements for use in a business context.
- Drive to achieve consistency and accuracy with all tasks.
Current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.
High levels of self and work awareness, presentation and standards. Along with the ability to work well in a multi-functional team environment.
