Hillarys Yacht Club currently has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join us in delivering an exceptional standard of hospitality in a stunning location. We are a fully licensed venue with multiple food and beverage outlets. The venue comprises a Members Lounge/Restaurant, a casual bar and multiple function rooms. We serve the highest quality cuisine and beverages with affordable prices whilst showcasing live entertainment, enabling Members and guests to enjoy the Club frequently during the week and weekends whilst taking in the spectacular views of both the Indian Ocean and the stunning Hillarys Harbour.
In addition to running both casual dining and an a-la-carte restaurant, the Club also runs a number of social events for Members and guests, along with its busy function business for a variety of functions including conferences, birthdays, anniversaries and weddings.
The Role:
Hillarys Yacht Club is looking for a professional Food and Beverage Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Club food and beverage function and to deliver a professional and high standard of service and offerings at all times.
This role requires management and administration duties as well as hands on involvement with operations. Flexibility is required with the ability to work regular weekends and late nights.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- The provision of a high quality food and beverage offering.
- Manage and lead the hospitality front of house team, working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team, to include effective staff rostering, training and human resource management.
- Financial management of the food and beverage operation including annual budgets, event financial reporting, menu and beverage costings / pricing, daily takings reconciliations etc.
- Inventory management including monthly stocktakes and purchasing.
- Menu and beverage list management and related supplier contracts.
- Point of sale and hospitality software management.
- Oversee and drive the social calendar and function business, from bookings to delivery.
- Management of hospitality policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and compliance with liquor licensing requirements.
- Compliance with work health and safety requirements.
- Maintaining internal stakeholder relationships with Members, guests, committees and staff.
- Maintaining external stakeholder relationships with contractors and suppliers.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Food & Beverage Manager in a fast paced role.
- Previous experience working in a Club hospitality environment will be viewed favourably.
- Barista, RSA and Approved Manager qualifications are required.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to develop connections and relationships with Members and guests.
- Strong food and beverage knowledge.
- POS and Function software knowledge.
- An energetic personality with excellent communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in training and developing staff.
- Accountability for stock control and reporting.
- Working with Children and National Police Check will be required, and you must have full Australian working rights.
