Applications are now being sought for a Winemaker to join our dynamic winemaking team at the Hanwood winery, located in the Riverina wine region.

Operating in key global markets and nationally in Australia we craft, produce and market the multi awarded McWilliam’s, Mt.Pleasant and Barwang wine brands as well as proudly distributing Champagne Taittinger, Henkell, Mateus, Mionetto, Framingham, Evans & Tate and Deep Woods in the domestic marketplace.

The successful applicant will be involved in the creation of award-winning wines, from the vineyard to the bottle, and have responsibility for the day-to-day winemaking of an established portfolio of wines.

Reporting to the Senior Winemaker, it is expected that the successful applicant will be a skilled and experienced winemaker, self-motivated and be able to work autonomously.

Working closely with senior winemaking & management on site you will:
• Manage winemaking programs for a defined portfolio of wines from vineyard to bottle
• Oversee planning & implementation of day to day cellar & laboratory activities,
• Work in a hands-on capacity, generating & distributing cellar notes, data entry & carrying out cellar tasks as required.
• Ensure wine quality & customer standards are met within regulatory requirements
• Be involved is company PR & committees as required

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years winemaking experience encompassing the below tasks:
• Bottling winemaking experience
• Large scale processing & systems implementation/management
• Understanding of viticulture & ability to make informed harvest decisions
• cool climate winemaking
• emerging varietals
• wine show judging
