Family owned and operated; Derwent Estate Vineyard is nestled on the banks of The Derwent River, 20 minutes north of Hobart and is home to the Winery, Rathbone Cottage (Circa 1820 - where customers experience our 12 wines on tasting) and ‘The Shed’ restaurant.
The winery is focused on maintaining a sustainable, agricultural, and economically viable business. The onsite processing facility has been purposely built using straw bales and lime render resulting in award winning vintages within cool climate categories.
Due to our continuously expanding business we’re searching for a motivated, personable, knowledgeable cellar door/hospitality professional to manage our Cellar Door experience. You will have a passion for delivering exceptional service and will be pragmatic, a self-starter and a leader who has the ability to identify opportunities.
You will be responsible for successfully running the daily operations of the Cellar Door including managing and leading staff, rostering, ordering, various administrative duties (bookings, cellar club management, customer enquiries, dispatch orders), social media and of course Front of House tastings and restaurant service.
It goes without saying that you will have a genuine love of wine, a true oenophile!
You will also be a secure, open-minded individual who can communicate effectively with your team and other leaders within the business.
Key attributes of the successful candidate:
- Dynamic with a positive attitude;
- Strong tech skills – email, office, POS etc;
- Willing to work weekends (one full weekend off per month)
- Loyal, hardworking and committed to the success of the business;
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to use initiative and multitask.
