Clyde Park Vineyard is one of Geelong’s most recognised family wine companies combining originality with a clear regional style.
Clyde Park Vineyard is passionate about producing cool climate wines that reflect site and region, focusing on varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz, along with our aromatics Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who can work long, physically demanding shifts in our established vineyard & winery. We are looking for the successful person to commence February 2022 through to the end of vintage. The position will require flexible and extended hours over the vintage period with the likelihood of working 6 days, 12-15 hours some days.
The role will involve:
- Winery cellar work including:
- Cleaning and sanitation of winery equipment, machinery and tanks with attention to wine hygiene and food safety
- Wine and juice transfers
- Fruit receival and processing – tipping, crushing, loading the press
- Press operation
- Yeast preparation and inoculation of ferments
- Additions to juice, must and wine
- Sampling juice, must, wine and fermentations
- Sample analysis – particularly for fermentation monitoring
- Cooling and fermentation manipulation
- Ferment / cap management – plunging and pump-over programs
- Barrel work, including topping, stirring ferments, filling wine to barrel, oak selection and preparation.
The successful applicant will:
- Show professionalism
- Have a valid forklift licence
- Be punctual and show efficiency and workmanship
- Adhere to safety standards
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Possess the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team
Remuneration is in accordance with experience and the Wine Industry Award, and our onsite chef will be available to cater meals during vintage.
