Rymill Coonawarra is a dynamic company, winery, and vineyard, located in the heart of South Australia’s world-renowned Coonawarra region, which produces wines of outstanding quality and value.
With some exciting recent changes, the company is currently taking the next step in evolving itself, the brand, and the great wines that Rymill Coonawarra produce.
An opportunity now exists in the company for a highly motivated individual to fulfil the role of Assistant Winemaker.
Reporting directly to the General Manager/Winemaker, this exciting position will primarily be responsible for coordinating daily winemaking work with the cellar and the laboratory, among many other roles and responsibilities. Working with the Winemaker in the assessment of parcels of fruit and wine, helping to craft the existing range of wines to meet local, domestic, and export styles and requirements, as well helping to define the future direction and product lineup, are all part and parcel of this role.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The successful applicant will be team-oriented and should have strong attention to detail and time management skills, as well as a degree in Oenology (or nearing finish of an applicable degree). Cellar experience and knowledge of operations, appreciation and knowledge of wine, will be highly regarded. Experience interacting and working with winery management systems (we use EzyWine) will also be beneficial, but not vital.
The position will require flexible working hours during vintage (including weekends), and occasional state or interstate travel.
