Longshore is looking for an Assistant Sommelier – April start.
About Us:
Longshore is a new coastal inspired restaurant run by the previous beloved Hartsyard team Jarrod Walsh & Dorothy Lee. Nestled in the heart of Chippendale at The Old Clare Hotel, it is the first seafood-focused restaurant and wine bar in the area.
About the Role:
As the Assistant Sommelier you will be working closely with the Head Sommelier to:
- Work closely with the suppliers to create and sustain an exceptional wine list.
- Use your extensive wine knowledge to provide suggestions of food and wine pairing.
- Develop and train team members.
- Manage the costing and PNL of wine.
About You:
We are looking for someone who has a true passion for everything wine and hospitality who is ready to work in a creative team environment! This role will suit someone who is willing to share their strong knowledge of the wine industry with the guests. Preferably you will also have these attributes:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an upscale restaurant.
- Have a sound understanding, knowledge and passion for the industry.
- Exceptional organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work across multiple areas of the business
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
- Ability to mentor and train staff
This position has the potential of being promoted to Head Sommelier if you are the right fit!
