The vintage season is here!
Each year, Cape Mentelle builds a team of exceptionally skilled Cellar Hands and Vineyard Hands from various backgrounds to bring their dedication and knowledge to support us with the year’s harvest. We provide comprehensive training, a social & collaborative work structure and broad work tasks to allow you immerse yourself and build an intimate understanding of winery/vineyard process. You will have direct access to our winemakers and viticulturists and ability to build your professional networks with staff from around the world.
During some points of the harvest period, you may be required work shifts up to 12 hours in length and up to 6 days per week.
Cellar Hands
During the season, our Cellar Hands are responsible for all winery harvest duties including grape receival and processing, rackings and transfers, filtration, red and white fermentation management and barrel work.
For this role, we expect you to have a minimum of 2 vintage winery/laboratory experiences as well as completed qualification in Oenology or equivalent.
Vineyard Hands
Vintage Vineyard Hands will be responsible for operating tractors and other vineyard machinery, assisting in net application, canopy management, vine training and general vineyard maintenance as well as actively participate in all harvesting activities, by hand and machine.
For this role, prior viticultural or related horticultural experience is mandatory, completed or on-going qualifications in Viticulture is desirable.

Competitive rate + 9.5% super + training + daily meal / meal allowance
