We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Operator/Supervisor to join our passionate team on a full-time basis. This position is primarily based at our Bridgeland Vineyard in Rosa Glen, Margaret River.
Clairault Streicker is a family owned grower and wine producer based in Margaret River, located on the rugged south-west coastline of Western Australia. We are the owners and caretakers of four distinct vineyards spanning multiple sub-regions of the Margaret River Wine Region.
Bridgeland Vineyard is our largest estate and produces wines of exceptionally high quality. Varieties grown at this site include Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
Our emphasis is on professionalism, quality, safety, impeccable vineyard and estate presentation together with operational efficiency.
Job Purpose & Primary Function:
Machinery operator required to safely operate and maintain machinery assisting in staff training of vineyard/horticultural tasks and machinery operations with minimal supervision across the company vineyards.
This role also involves the supervision of teams in performing a range of general labour, technical duties and property maintenance tasks as directed.
The successful applicant will report directly to our Bridgelands Vineyard Manager and Senior Vineyard Manager, collaborating with our Ironstone Vineyard Manager, Yallingup & Clairault Vineyard Operator/Supervisors and our Administration staff.
Some weekend work and night shift may be required throughout harvest periods.
Key Responsibilities:
Operation of a range of machinery for fungicide, herbicide, slashing, and harvest
Day to day maintenance of plant and machinery
Manage chemical application, irrigation scheduling, and relevant recording, as directed
Vine training, pruning, canopy management, trellis installation and maintenance, harvesting, and netting operations
Train and manage vineyard staff and contract laborer’s
Collaborate with field operations staff to achieve objectives
Provide a high level of record keeping and Quality Assurance
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in viticulture, or other related areas such as agriculture or horticulture is essential with 3-5 years experience in a similar role desirable.
Certificate 3 in Viticulture
Forklift Ticket
Chemcert Certificate or Similar
First Aid Certificate
HACCP or Similar
Mechanical aptitude
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Positive attitude and a proactive thinking
Competent leadership skills
