ABOUT TELLER
Teller is a multi-purpose venue in the heart of busy Lygon Street, Brunswick East. Our beautiful venue has five unique spaces, featuring an intimate 40-seater front bar, a light-filled 80-seat pavilion, a laneway courtyard bar with a retractable roof, an upstairs function space, and a private dining annex. We can host any occasion, from weddings, corporate dinners, family gatherings, and a quick midweek meal to a casual catch-up with friends.
Teller’s concept features a casual yet up-market experience with a shared-style menu, complemented by 12 rotating beers on tap, amazing cocktails and a carefully curated wine list; we are synonymous with the Brunswick East drinking and dining scene. Our mission is to be an extension of home, serving our neighbourhood and local community with kindness and integrity.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for someone who loves people and our customers. Someone who is highly creative in the development of cocktail creation and has a passion for staying updated on current hospitality trends, including having a strong knowledge of the local dining scene. This role is self-managed and responsible for the day-to-day running of our bar, which is a mix of over-counter and dispensed service to ensure smooth operation during busy periods and events.
We are looking for someone to join our senior management team who has hospitality at its core, someone who is approachable, welcoming, and positive, creates a fun and engaging environment for both our guests and staff and takes pride in the upkeep and maintenance of their domain. This role is perfect for someone looking to take the next steps in their hospitality career and have a secure position to grow into.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
- At least two years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in the day-to-day running operations of running and maintaining a bar, including cellar management.
- Demonstrated cocktail batching and cocktail menu preparation experience
- Assisting with the drink production costs management team, stock control, budgeting and monthly reporting, and strong computer literacy.
- Ordering stock and receiving stock.
- Maintaining systems and operations to ensure smooth running in your absence.
- Demonstrated supervisory/management experience in shift management, venue operations, POS, RSA management.
- Ability to lead by example, be hands-on, hardworking and possess a can-do attitude.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills; give feedback, support, direct and nurture our staff.
- Team-orientated with an outgoing, be able to jump out and help the floor staff if needed.
- RSA, Do Food Safety and Sound understanding of workplace health and safety standards.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, with some Duty Management required for open and closing shifts.
