As the social epicentre of the Manly Harbour Village, The Manly Hotel has been serving up good times, cold drinks, quality pub grub & cracking live entertainment for decades. Known to the locals as "The Manly", this family owned Aussie pub offers patrons a patchwork of bars, Thirsty Camel branded bottle shops, dining nooks & places to meet.
An exciting opportunity exists to join our retail team in the role of Retail Manager for our Thirsty Camel Liquor Barn and detached Bottleshops. The stores feature a large selection of wines, classic & craft beers and spirits. We are looking for a person to take this department to the next level in retail liquor. Your knowledge and understanding of trends in the marketplace will be highly regarded.
The role:
You will be responsible for the day to day operations of a busy business unit of the Hotel. You must be willing to work flexible hours including some nights and weekend work. Travel between shops during the working week will be essential. The position is full time and a salaried position.
What you need:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position
- Financial awareness & experience of managing a budget
- Ability to create and understand rosters with due regard to Award conditions
- Exceptional organisational, time management and communication skills
- Eye for detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated knowledge of wines and regions to enable you to provide excellent customer service mentoring to other staff
- Self motivated with the ability to work on your own and as part of a team
- Excellent presentation standards
- Ability to work with a variety of software packages and intermediate computer skills
- Some knowledge of workplace Health and Safety in the workplace
- Stock control processes
- Current Qld RSA certificate
