In this role, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge of wines, wine regions and winemaking processes. This knowledge will help you lead informative wine tastings for our Cellar Door guests, whilst building on your passion of wine.
You will also have the opportunity to further your Barista and food service skills within our thriving Cellar Door, to assure all our guests enjoy their visit with us!
Reporting to the: Cellar Door Retail Sales Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome all guests to our Cellar Door, and offer exemplary customer service at all times
- Conduct tailor made wine tastings, whilst demonstrating extensive knowledge of The Gilbert Family Wine Company and the relevant wine regions
- Serve food, alcoholic beverages (RSA required), teas and coffees
- Trained/Experienced Barista – (ideal but essential) adaptable to learning our machine and continuing to enhance your skills, to provide our guests with high-quality coffee service and steadily increase your knowledge of the coffee making process
- Assist with basic food preparation
- Accurately process customer transactions on the POS
- Seek opportunities and make recommendations to increase the overall experience for our Cellar Door guests
- Assist in achieving monthly sales targets for the Cellar Door
- Seek out opportunities to link and up sell
- Assist Management with event preparation, execution and shutdown - as directed/rostered
- Promote The Collector Wine Club and actively contribute to our increased number of members
- Ensure that hygiene standards are maintained to the highest level at all times in all areas, and undertake cleaning duties regularly
- Complete gardening maintenance duties as directed by management
- Participate in scheduled staff training
- Participate in continuous product and industry related education
- Provide general support to management and colleagues, and participate in the continuous improvement of processes within our Cellar Door
The Candidate:
- A passion for wine!
- A passion for coffee!
- Experience in customer service - preferred but not essential
- RSA Certified - or can be prior to start date
- WSET 1 or 2 - ideal but not essential
- Barista certified – ideal but not essential
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction
- Expected to assist with weekend work
- Flexible to work events and public holidays - as required
- Live in the Mid-West Region or is in a position to commute to or relocate to Mudgee, NSW
- Have the right to work in Australia
