About the business
G. Patritti & Co Pty Ltd are a proud family business, established by Giovanni Patritti in 1926. We are the last remaining fully operational family owned winery in suburban Adelaide, located at Dover Gardens. We are custodians of the historic Marion Urban Vineyards and also own and operate two premium McLaren Vale vineyards in Blewitt Springs and Tatachilla, both planted by the family in early 1960's.
About the role
We are currently seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and self-motivated person with previous experience / training in a winery laboratory or similar, to join our winemaking team, located at the Patritti Winery in Dover Gardens, Adelaide.
The starting date will be late February 2022.
This is a casual position (approx. 2-3 days per week) and the successful applicant will play a vital role within winemaking department. The position is available as a temporary vintage position but could potentially become a longer term casual position, pending the availability and skills of the successful candidate.
Duties will include
- Chemical analysis of wines, juices and cider.
- Maintenance and upkeep of the lab equipment, tools, utensils and general lab cleanliness standards
- Stock control and the ordering of chemicals and other lab supplies
- Instrument calibration
- Accurate, digital and manual record-keeping of all analysis reports
- Complete Export Analysis Certificates
- Other cellar duties as required by the winemaker
The successful applicant will understand the general duties undertaken in a lab and be able to perform or learn quickly, the tasks associated with this role. The winery lab technician will take direction from the winemaker.
