About the business
Patritti is the only fully functioning winery and juice producer in the Adelaide suburbs. The position is ideally suited to someone living either in the western or southern suburbs of Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills or McLaren Vale.
Patritti Wines was established by Giovanni Patritti in 1926 and the company planted two highly acclaimed vineyards in Blewitt Springs and Tatachilla in the 1960s.
Patritti are custodians of last small remaining urban Marion vineyards including the 113 year old Oaklands road Vineyard and export approximately 200 containers of wine and juice overseas each year.
About the role
We are currently seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and self-motivated person with previous experience / training in a winery laboratory or similar, to join our winemaking team, located at the Patritti Winery in Dover Gardens, Adelaide.
The starting date will be February 2021.
This is a casual position (approx. 2-3 days per week) and the successful applicant will play a vital role within winemaking department. The position is available as a temporary vintage position or as a longer term casual position pending the availability of the successful candidate.
Duties will include
- - Chemical analysis of wines, juices and cider.
- - Maintenance and upkeep of the lab equipment, tools, utensils and general lab cleanliness standards
- - Stock control and the ordering of chemicals and other lab supplies
- - Instrument calibration
- - Accurate, digital and manual record-keeping of all analysis reports
- - Complete Export Analysis Certificates
The successful applicant will understand the general duties undertaken in a lab and be able to perform or learn quickly, the tasks associated with this role. The winery lab technician will take direction from the winemakers, export manager and senior cellar hand.
Skills and experience
Seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and self-motivated person with previous experience and or training in a winery laboratory or similar.
