Only 45 minutes south of Adelaide in South Australia, McLaren Vale is home to sustainable winegrowing, world-class wines and culinary experiences, as well as pristine natural attractions and unparalleled tourism offerings.
The McLaren Vale Grape Wine & Tourism Association is the peak representative body for all grape-growers, wine producers and tourism providers in one of Australia's most valuable wine tourism regions – a combined representation of more than 550 businesses and over $500m in immediate farm-gate value.
The Association provides the major industries of the McLaren Vale region – wine, food and tourism – with a vision for the future in both domestic and international markets. The Association plays a crucial role in securing the region's economic and environmental sustainability.
This crucial role requires a proactive individual to assist the Marketing and Communications Manager and small MVGWTA team in executing the Association's strategic plan for 'brand McLaren Vale'.
Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, this part-time role will involve all aspects of strategic marketing and communications.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Assist in enhancing the national and international value of 'brand McLaren Vale' by supporting the Marketing & Communications Manager to implement various marketing and communications programs, events and activities
- Provide effective, efficient and accurate administration of MVGWTA digital channels and assets, including management and maintenance of database management systems, CMS and social media
- Build and reinforce 'brand McLaren Vale' by assisting with the implementation of marketing and communications campaigns that enhance the value of the region as both a tourism destination (consumer) and producer of fine wines (trade).
The successful candidate will possess the following qualities and experience:
- A positive team player with a collaborative and easy manner
- Excellent communication skills required to represent the Association and Brand McLaren Vale appropriately to all MVGWTA stakeholders
- Exceptional time management skills
- Self-starting and proactive
- A minimum of two years' experience in a marketing/communications related role
- Demonstrated track record of efficient, effective and timely communications management
- Demonstrated experience in management of multi-channel social media platforms
- Knowledge of online database management systems and integrated EDM software
- Experience and ability to create, design, and produce marketing campaigns including promotional activity implementation, print production, website maintenance, copywriting.
- Graphic design experience (Adobe creative suite) - desirable, but not essential
This role will be appointed as a 12-month contract initially, and may be extended pending performance and the Association's capacity.
This role is located in McLaren Vale; some intra and interstate travel may be required. A valid driver's licence is required to fulfil this role.
