The South Australian Wine Industry Association Incorporated is a member based organisation which is the peak body representing the winemakers and wine grape growers in South Australia.

Our mission is to provide leadership to South Australian grape and wine businesses so they achieve great things that they couldn’t do by themselves. The Association has a strong record of achieving positive outcomes for its diverse stakeholders and the delivery of superior customer service.

Reporting to the Business Services Manager, essential responsibilities of this specialist role include:

  • Service member requests to provide industrial relations (IR) and work health and safety (WHS) advice and solutions to workplace issues;
  • Promote existing and develop IR and WHS resources for members;
  • Undertake consultancy “fee for service” work and contribute to achieve financial budgets;
  • Delivery of training sessions to the wine industry;
  • Represent wine industry interests and views on IR and WHS matters to regulatory agencies, parliamentary inquiries and industry groups;
  • Undertake IR and WHS projects for the benefit of the wine industry, which may include collaborating with interested parties; and
  • Participate and contribute to the business and growth and development of services.

Applications are encouraged from suitably experienced IR adviser or practitioner, with a working knowledge of state / national WHS legislation and WHS management systems. Beneficial but not essential is previous experience in the wine, pastoral, horticulture or manufacturing industries. Also beneficial but not mandatory is knowledge of legislation impacting business and other regulatory imposts on business.   

Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to effectively work with all levels of stakeholders, and the ability to research and analytically assess relevant information will be required.

This role is a full time position but applicants seeking a part time role are also encouraged to apply.  The position is located within the Industry Offices, National Wine Centre, Adelaide and the position does include some intrastate and interstate travel from time to time.  This is a rare opportunity to join an employer association in the high profile wine industry.
