About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our talented team as a Cellar Door Manager.
You will be responsible for creating, improving and strengthening customer connections as well as for the cellar door's overall success and profitability. The Cellar Door Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining a workplace where all staff are respected and valued and where a training culture permeates throughout the business.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all guests to the cellar door experience a world-class level of service.
- Showcase your creativity and expertise in ensuring our tailored event packages deliver extraordinary moments for guests celebrating special occasions.
- Be part of a workplace that values and respects its staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Unleash your marketing prowess by teaming up with our brand team to promote our cellar door, create and host events, and assist with our Flight Club memberships.
- Share your knowledge and passion by training our dedicated team, elevating service standards to new heights.
- Cultivate lasting connections with our guests, ensuring they return and speak highly of their experience.
- Demonstrate passion and knowledge for crafting exceptional wine tasting experiences.
- Streamline our operations with your expertise in managing the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Manage a team of staff with timeliness and an eye to tight wage control.
- Manage wine and beverage lists, control stock levels, timely ordering, and budgeting.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven cellar door management experience
- An extensive knowledge of wines, wine regions, varietals and vintages
- A strong understanding of food and wine pairing principles, flavour profiles and culinary trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests, explain wine selections and build rapport.
- A demonstrated ability to curate and manage a diverse and well-rounded wine list.
- Exceptional organisational skills to maintain our wine inventory, monitor stock levels and place orders.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
- A minimum WSET Level 3 or similar wine-related qualification will be highly regarded.
- Back up to our Restaurant Manager.
The role is a full-time role, and the successful applicant must be able to work weekends and on occasion, evenings for functions and events. A level of flexibility is required.
