Henschke now has some exciting opportunities for you to join our team for the Vintage 2022 season. These roles are based at our iconic winery at Keyneton supporting the Winemaking team.
VINTAGE CELLAR HAND
We are looking for a Cellar Hand to join our dynamic team under the direction and support of the Winemakers. At Henschke we believe in investing in people. We are offering an opportunity to train and develop a candidate with the right ‘person fit’ who is eager and willing to learn, providing valuable experience. Duties include grape receival, press operation, filtration, tanker operation, housekeeping and all other general cellar duties. The successful candidate will have the ability to work well both within a team and independently. You will be physically fit, reliable and work safely in accordance with our policies and procedures. Working hours are over a 7-day flexible roster with overtime and weekend work when necessary.
A high-risk forklift license is preferred, and confined space certification would be beneficial but not essential.
VINTAGE LAB ASSISTANT
We require an experienced Lab Assistant to work cohesively with our Winemaking team. Key job requirements include, but are not limited to -
- Intake analysis (SO2, pH/TA, Be, YAN) and general fermentation analysis
- Preparation of winemaking trials, namely fining and acidity
- Residual sugar and Malic acid determination
- Sample collection and cellar additions
- Accurate interpretation and reporting of results
- Opportunity to be involved in general cellar tasks as required
We look for candidates who are proactive with strong interpersonal, literacy and numeracy skills. The successful incumbent will be required to work flexible hours with some overtime and weekend work when necessary. Knowledge of lab quality systems and standards, and experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.
