Flying Fish Cove is a modern contract winemaking facility in the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River. We maintain a busy cellar year-round and are looking for a permanent Senior Cellar Operator to join our team. The successful applicant will have prior experience in a cellar based role. This is a hands-on role which requires both physical fitness and motivation to fulfil the role successfully. A positive attitude and a willingness to take responsibility for each assigned task is essential.
NATURE AND SCOPE
The position is intended to be based in the cellar with a responsibility for all cellar operations including supervision of a small cellar team.
- Ensure that all cellar operations are carried out in accordance with Flying Fish Cove’s (FFC) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and take an active role in the development and improvement of those procedures.
- Be familiar with the weekly work schedule and monthly bottling schedule as the first point of reference for work scheduling.
- Work directly with the site winemaker in planning and scheduling daily, weekly and monthly work plans. Ensuring all planned cellar work is completed within allocated time frames.
- Train casual and permanent cellar staff to be competent in FFC cellar procedures including the correct operation of all cellar equipment in accordance with FFC’s SOPs.
